4 Habits You Must Give Up to Become Successful

It’s safe to say that nearly everyone is trying to achieve happiness, success, and fulfillment in their lives. When it comes to achieving our dreams, we can be both our own best friend and worst critic.

Each time we starve off a negative habit, we have the chance and room to build a better, more positive one. This makes it easier to achieve our goals.

Here are 4 of the most common destructive habits and what you can do to reclaim your success once and for all:

1. Using electronics in bed

Although it seems harmless, using electronics can become addictivive and interfere with our normal sleep patterns. In addition, they can steal our attention and make us less productive. .

So what’s the solution to this problem? Leave your phone on the opposite end of the room. You might be tempted to get it but stay strong. Doing this will help you get rest and reclaim your energy.

2. Procrastinating

Everyone has a few tasks on their to-do list that they dread; and although we know these things need to get done, we procrastinate and allow the anxiety to continue building.  What’s bad about this is that in the time we do this, we are putting off our ambitions, hopes, and dreams. No wonder we feel stressed!

Life is already complicated, there is no need to continue to complicate it. So, with that said, find a way to get everything done. Start small and build your way up! you’ll be more able to get everything done when you start slowly and gradually pick up. Get past this initial step and It’s nearly smooth sailing from there!

3. Thinking negative thoughts

The mind, just like the body, runs on fuel. In this case, instead of food, thoughts are what fuel the mind. If we feed ourselves negative thoughts and scenarios, we will create negative beliefs and therefore a negative life as a result.

In order to be successful, we need to believe in ourselves and change our thinking. We are our not our thoughts or past failures. Because our future has not yet been written, It’s a blank slate. Live in the present moment and fill your mind up with positive thoughts.

4. Staying In our comfort zone

As babies, we always try new things and explore the world around us. As we get older, we become less wiling to try new things. One of the reasons behind this is a the fear of failure and it tends to get worse the older we get–if we let it.

To become our best, we have to be willing to grow and try new things. We may embrace failure, but no one is born as an expert at anything. Even the best had to start off from scratch, just like you.

Over time, things that were once outside our comfort zone will become comfortable. This is a sign we are expanding our comfort zone, but we must do this repeatedly to grow.

We don’t have to do anything extreme to step outside our comfort zone. We hear stories about people making radical changes, like quitting their job or moving overseas. We can still step outside of our comfort zone by taking small steps forward. Talk to someone new. Take a new route to the store. Try new food. See how this feels, and imagine what other possibilities are out there.

We always need to determine what works, what doesn’t, and toss out the rest. Everyone is going to be different, so don’t be afraid to try different things and see what works best for you. Habits are powerful, use them wisely.
