How to manage your time more efficiently

Whether you’re a busy entreprenuer or a busy IT specialist working 9-5, you need to make the most of your time in order to be efficient and ultimately successful.

After all, time is the most important resource and when managed correctly, can help you take your work and business to the next level. This is why It’s so crucial to make a plan each day which helps you to organize your time.

“When we fail to plan, we plan to fail”

Our work cannot be completed in a timely fashion without planning ahead of time. So much anxiety could be prevented if we simply learned how to better manage our time and plan our day(s) and tasks.

Here are a few ways you can better manage your schedule. This will help you fit more into your day and become much more efficient with your time! 

Write it down.

When you first start your day, start a numbered list of what you plan on doing. Set time for each tasks and begin to check-off each task you complete.

There are numerous studies which show that we are more likely to complete a task if you first write it down.

It can be as simple as what you plan to eat for breakfast to where you plan on going for lunch. Then, begin to group each item into categories so that you can easily go through and complete each task.

Set a timer.

For each task, set a timer using your phone or a website timer.

When we set aside time for each task complete with an alarm for when the time is up, we are more likely than not to finish up our tasks in a timely fashion.

If you don’t know how much time to set aside for each task, make a guesstimate and then adjust if needed. Make sure though that you’re giving yourself enough time to complete everything on your list.

User a calendar.

You may already have a physical calendar as well as one on your computer desktop AND on your phone. But how often are you using them? If you aren’t using them DAILY, you’re missing out on the added help of managing your time.

Planning out your day, week, month, even year, has never been easier. Most calendar digital calendar applications these days allow you to add lists and organize your day based on time.

You can even color code your calendar depending on which app you’re utilizing. It’s never been easier to stay organized!

As time goes on, you will begin to learn new ways on how to become more efficient and how to organize your time wisely. Stay focused, driven, and never underestimate the power of planning ahead!
