A Few Ways To Help You Find Inspiration

A Few Ways To Help You Find Inspiration

“You can’t wait for inspiration. You have to go after it with a club.”  ‒‒Jack London

We all go through times where we can’t seem to find inspiration, and this can be detrimental to success. We need to be inspired to be motivated, and we need to be motivated to be successful. Lucky for you, I have a few tips to help you out. All you need to do is try it out.

Here are a few inspiration inducing practices to help you in life and in business. Let’s go.

  1. Take a walk.

Take a break from thinking and go outside. Find a good spot away from the grind, away from the noise, and away from the stress. Rid yourself of all distractions for a while. Taking a walk and observing all of the nature around you is relaxing and therapeutic. Look at the trees, the animals, the clouds or stars. Few things bring me more inspiration than spending time in nature.

“Inspiration comes from within yourself. One has to be positive. When you’re positive, good things happen.” ‒‒Deep Roy

  1. Listen to music.

Shut off the television, dim the lights, and turn on some tunes. Music is an amazing tool for finding inspiration. It reminds us of how amazing and talented human beings are. It reminds us that we are capable of creating something beautiful and intricate. Take some time away from all distractions, sit in your favorite chair, turn on some of your favorite songs. And just listen.

  1. Calibrate your space.

It’s very hard to be inspired by anything when you are in a bad environment. If your room is dirty, your desk is cluttered, or you just don’t like the vibe of your workspace, then it is going to be very hard to find inspiration. Take some time to clean up or rearrange. Hang some artwork, invest in ambient lighting, or repaint the walls. Working in a clean environment and in a space that reflects your vibe or personality is sure to bring you an extra boost of inspiration everytime you’re in there. Try this and I promise you will thank me.

“When we clear the physical clutter from our lives, we literally make way for inspiration and ‘good, orderly direction’ to enter.” —Julia Cameron

  1. Spend time with people.

Sometimes being around people can be the best form of inspiration. But being around the wrong people can be very uninspiring. Surround yourself with successful people. Surround yourself with happy people. Surround yourself with people that have the same goals as you. The worst thing you can do is surround yourself with lazy and negative people. If you don’t have any friends that are motivated and inspired, then find some new ones. Friend someone that wants to do better and be better, and next time you are in an inspirational slump, ask them out for lunch and see where it takes you.

“Inspiration comes from everywhere: books, art, people on the street. It is an interior process for me.” ‒‒Colleen Atwood
