Three main fears that hold people back from their dreams

I was out in Aruba with a buddy of mine, and we were walking up to the TSA and he asked me what I believe are the main things that prevent people from being successful in our profession, which is network marketing, and I got to thinking.

It all goes back to fear.

I told him, “I think it’s the fear of this, the fear of that.” And so, I had about a four hour flight back to the states, and it gave me some time to actually think about what are the main things that people are afraid of that hold them back from living their dream life? It was a situation where I had plenty of time to reflect, and I came up with some stuff, and I think you guys are going to get a lot of value out of it.

To overcome fear you really only need to realize the truth behind your fear, and that’s my goal for today, to address the three most common fears that hold people back from living their dreams and to help you break through those. I’ll give you the keys, but it’s absolutely imperative that you realize this super important, invaluable truth, which is that emotions aren’t subject to reason, they’re subject to action.

You can’t talk your way out of it, you have to take action.

So, here are the 3 main fears that hold people back from their dreams

  1. Fear of change.

What you need to realize is that change is constant and it’s inevitable, period.

The change you’re experiencing is meant for your growth, and sometimes growth might be uncomfortable at first, but growth always ends up feeling good, and you become a better person and a more fulfilled individual because of that growth. Look at change as an opportunity to begin something new without all of the previous imperfections of your life, whatever they may be. It’s a chance to be a new and better person, work more towards becoming your dream self, to move forward as your dream self, the best version of you that you could possibly be.

Remember, change is fun.

  1. Fear of ridicule.

What is everyone going to think about me?

You need to realize the only type of person that ridicules, is a person that unconsciously notices a flaw of their own that someone else has overcome. Think about that. Ridicule is a form of envy, so don’t get mad at the person for envying you and not knowing how to give a compliment. You’ll find that if you use this to motivate you further and you continue down your path, that the insecure person almost always comes around to congratulating you on staying the path.

Man, that feels good.

Over time, ridicule always turns into applause for those that stay the course, so you’ve just got to stay the course.

  1. Fear of failure.

You have to realize that success is nothing more than a series of corrected failures. You could think of it one of two different ways to your advantage.

One is to not try. It’s an automatic failure. So you know that if you don’t try, you certainly won’t advance further, and if you don’t ever begin you’re not going to get anywhere. But sometimes people do that in order to protect themselves from getting hurt from failing.

The other thing that I think would be more advantageous than that, is to know that you will have challenges, we all do. You’re going to have hurdles, you’re going to have setbacks, but it’ll only ever be a failure if you accept it as such and you give up.

Take comfort in knowing that it’s impossible to beat the man or woman who refuses to give up. Instead, don’t be afraid of failure, be concerned of not trying, and the nagging phrase in your life that lasts a lifetime. The phrase “What if?” has haunted more men and women and driven to madness than any other phrase in the English language.

So I challenge you all to not only realize these truths that I’ve given you today, but to digest them, to assimilate them into your everyday being, then take immediate action to better yourself with this powerful knowledge.

Commit to that today, because today is the day that we do something about our lives.
